This vacation residence was built by HR Pacific in 2009 at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, located in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Designed by Lapointe Architects, the home is set on a mountain slope within a landscape defined by rugged terrain and resort architecture influenced by early 20th-century design traditions.
The residence reinterprets the “National Parks Style” associated with the Arts and Crafts movement, an approach that emphasizes elegant yet rustic character. The chalet complements its surrounding context while also incorporating contemporary elements and technologies suited to modern living.
Through its design and execution, the project demonstrates a balance between heritage architectural language and current construction practices, creating a home that aligns with both resort requirements and the expectations of a contemporary vacation residence.
