The strength of HR Pacific lies in its people. From founders and directors to project managers, site leaders, and coordinators, each member brings unique skills, experience, and a deep commitment to excellence. What unites them is a shared passion for craftsmanship, collaboration, and building in some of Canada’s most inspiring and challenging environments. Together, they form a team that not only delivers precision and quality but also fosters trust, mentorship, and lasting relationships with clients and communities.
John Ratzlaff remains the guiding inspiration behind HR Pacific. His creativity, optimism, and love for craftsmanship set the foundation for the company’s values and vision. With a lifelong fascination for history, nature, and design, he transformed simple materials into works of art that were both functional and beautiful. John’s warmth and passion for teaching continue to influence the culture of mentorship, creativity, and respect that defines HR Pacific today.
The Team That Builds Dreams
David Ratzlaff
Principal, HR Pacific
David Ratzlaff founded HR Pacific with a clear passion for building and a desire to create spaces that blend art and architecture. Trained in engineering at BCIT, he has decades of experience in residential, commercial, and timber construction across British Columbia and internationally. His leadership reflects a fearless drive to push boundaries, elevate results, and cultivate lasting relationships with clients and consultants. David’s love of skiing and the mountains naturally shaped HR Pacific’s presence in Canada’s top resort communities, where the company continues to thrive.
THE BOYS of HR PACIFIC
At the heart of HR Pacific’s success is a story of family and legacy. Founded by David Ratzlaff, whose vision and passion for building shaped the company’s foundation, the next generation has carried that inspiration forward in remarkable ways. Today, his four sons, Michael, Andrew, Chris, and Geoff, each lead with their own expertise while remaining united by shared values of craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity. Together, they represent the living continuity of their father’s vision and the future of HR Pacific.
The Boys of HR Pacific are more than family members working together; they are the living link between past and future. Carrying forward David Ratzlaff’s vision, they continue to blend artistry, engineering, and innovation into every project. Their story is proof that what began as a passion for building has become a legacy of excellence that will endure for generations.
