The Granite Lake Residence, also known as the Bridger Residence, is an industrial rustic home built by HR Pacific on Windermere Lake, British Columbia, in 2017. Designed by Willms Design Service, the project combines robust structural expression with handcrafted details to create a contemporary take on the traditional lake cabin. Daizen Joinery supplied the timber frame elements, Bridger Granite was sourced from Select Stone, and custom metalwork was executed by Reimer and Co., along with TXN Installations Ltd.

Client involvement played a key role in shaping the interior of the residence. Ira Darling contributed to design choices and the incorporation of reclaimed and reworked materials, ensuring that the home reflected a personal vision. Reclaimed light fixtures, pipe frame beds, steel and wire railings, and other custom metal details reinforce the Industrial Rustic character of the project. These elements were paired with reclaimed fir flooring and repurposed cedar ceilings, striking a balance between the raw strength of steel and the warmth of wood.
Personal history was woven into the design through the inclusion of classic photographs taken by the client, bringing an added layer of meaning to the spaces. The result is a home that recalls the atmosphere of a rustic lake cabin while offering the modern conveniences expected of a contemporary residence.
